Weight, cardio circuit training for New Year's resolutions

Photos and story by

PORTLAND, Ore. – At the turn of every year, there is one resolution that tops the list in America: to get in shape. Why not make this the year that you actually reach your goals? Portland Community College will offer an opportunity to get trimmed and toned with a non-credit class beginning in January. Weight Training: Cardio Circuit is designed to improve your overall health and fitness by using a combination of weight resistance and cardio machines. Instructor Lori Johnson revs up the class for 90 minutes of circuit training. No matter what your level of fitness, the result will be a healthier body. The class will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the newly built gym of PCC’s Cascade Campus, 705 N. Killingsworth St. Students can choose from two classes offered this term: Tuesdays, Jan. 4 through March 8; or Thursdays, Jan. 6 through March 10. Cost for each 10-week class is $89. For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-978-5205.
