Add pizzazz to your home decorating with PCC series

HILLSBORO, Ore. – You’ve seen the TV shows and you want to spruce up your home, but you also don’t want to spend a fortune. Portland Community College’s Interior Decorating Series, offered this spring, will show you how to add professional pizzazz to your home without hiring an interior decorator. Instructor Amy Seamster will teach the fundamental design tools to plan a project, from a quick change to a total makeover. The five-part series will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, March 31 through April 28, in Room 1563 at the Washington County Workforce Training Center, 18624 N.W. Walker Road. Sign up for the entire series for $49 or an individual class for $19. Classes include:Design Basics (March 31). Discover the elements and principles of great design. Learn to apply them to your space, starting by creating a floor plan.Color Play (April 7). Explore the basics of color, including a quick trip around the color wheel. Learn how to work with color to create your own color palette. Style Preferences (April 14). Develop a vocabulary to describe what you have and what you like.Accessorizing (April 21). Add the finishing touches to pull your room together.Work on a Budget (April 28).
