Photos and story by

ST. HELENS, Ore. – We all look forward to retirement: the golden days of leisure where we will finally have time to do what we want to do. Don’t let those days sneak up on you without being prepared. Take the time to learn about retirement investment options in a Portland Community College non-credit class and discover your options. Instructor Michael Griffin will take an in-depth look at retirement in How Money Works and How to Invest It. Discover the many different types of investments for individuals who are working or retired, including CDs, tax-free bonds, mutual funds, the stock market and various available retirement plans. The three-part class will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, March 31 through April 14, in Room C3 at Scappoose High School, 33700 S.E. High School Way. Cost is $44.
