Naturopathic series on alternative healthy living, remedies

PORTLAND, Ore. – Enhance your life and improve your health the natural way. An upcoming non-credit series offered by Portland Community College shows how to use naturopathic medical techniques at home.Bob Busch, a naturopathic doctor, will lead this spring’s Naturopathic Medicine: Naturally Healthy Living Series. Discover how to enhance your health using natural methods, plus get a lesson in hands-on herbal medicine making! The seven-part series will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, April 5 through May 15, at Morrison Park, 8903 S.W. Morrison St. Sign up for the entire series for $75 or an individual class for $24. Classes include:Naturopathic Medicine and Nutrition (April 5). Review the foods, herbs and vitamins that comprise your diet and learn just what keeps you healthy and feeling great. Students will also learn about food intolerances and diets to improve weight management.Colds, Flus and Respiratory Ailments (April 12). Discover how the use of herbs, nutritional supplements, dietary changes and breathing exercises can improve respiratory ailments.Homeopathy For Health and Healing (April 19). Get at introduction to homeopathy and philosophy, as well as common remedies to treat common ailments.Homeopathy For Health and Healing II (April 26). Continue to learn about common remedies and walk away with new approaches to headaches, digestion and acute trauma.Naturopathic First Aid (May 3). Learn how to build a naturopathic first aid kit for headaches, stomach aches, cuts and abrasions, burns, strains and sprains. Herbs for Health and Healing (May 10). Get a comprehensive view of herbs and how they are used to treat common ailments and improve vitality.Herbal Medicine Making (May 17).
