Students showcase talents in PCC art show

PORTLAND, Ore. – A Portland Community College exhibit will spotlight sculpture, painting, photography, mixed-media, ceramics, drawing and more from PCC’s best student artists.The annual PCC Sylvania Art Student Show at the Sylvania Campus Northview Gallery is set for May 8 through June 7. On Monday May 9, there will be an awards reception in the PCC Sylvania Performing Arts Center from 10 to 11 a.m."PCC’s Art Department offers classes in art history, basic design, sculpture, painting, drawing, photography, ceramics and mixed media is taught by a dedicated art faculty who contribute to the creative fiber of the Oregon community," said Marie Watt, art instructor and gallery director."Come view the fine works of art by committed, curious, and hardworking PCC art students," she added. "You may get inspired."The Northview Gallery, located in Room 214 of the CT Building of the Sylvania Campus (12000 S.W. 49th Ave.), is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
