PORTLAND, Ore. – Jewelry hobbyists can dress up their wrists with a new non-credit class offered by Portland Community College this summer. Bead Bracelet Techniques will show you how to make your own bracelets using beads of every shape, size and personality. Instructor Diane Mandaville will demonstrate how patterns and colors create beautiful bracelets for day or evening wear. Students will make a series of bracelets using multiple techniques including stringing, knotting, weaving and wire knitting. The result is several pieces that will complement your personal sense of fashion. The six-week class will meet from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, June 21 through July 26, at the PCC Central Portland Workforce Training Center, 1626 S.E. Water Ave. Cost is $69 tuition plus $50 for materials. For more information, contact the PCC Community Education office at 503-731-6642.
