PORTLAND, Ore. – Do friends drool for an invitation to one of your dinner parties? Do you find yourself being asked to plan the "dream" wedding? Spend an evening learning how to turn your knack for staging memorable events into a profitable business with a new non-credit class offered by Portland Community College.In just two hours Event Planning Business will get you started on a new career or side-business. Instructor Steve Veltkamp will teach you how to attract customers, price your services, market the event, coordinate suppliers and agendas and manage your business. Students will receive a list of resources that are designed to save time and generate money in the event-planning field.The seminar-style class will meet from 8 to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at the PCC Southeast Center, 2305 S.E. 82nd Ave. Cost is $29.For more information, contact the PCC Community Education office at 503-788-6265.
