Learn to mediate with the best of them

PORTLAND, Ore. – Conflicts arrive in every walk of life and situation. Mediation can be an effective tool in which to resolve any kind of conflict. Portland Community College offers training for those who wish to become mediators themselves or who just want to learn how to solve conflicts. The non-credit class, Mediation Skills Training, introduces some of Portland’s best mediators. They will share unique approaches and reveal specific tools they use to enhance their successful practices. Topics Include Mediating in the trenches (Oct. 13); Mediating with Small Groups (Oct. 20); Mediation Aversion (Oct. 27); Helping People to Connect with Self and Others (Nov. 3) and Family Mediation and Open Adoptions (Nov. 10).The five-week workshop will meet from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Thursdays, Oct. 13 through Nov. 10 at the Friendly House, Inc. 1737 N.W. 26 Ave. Cost is $204.For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-614-7308.
