Speakers get ancient tips in 'Tao of Presentation Skills'

PORTLAND, Ore. – The principles of the Tao can make your next speech a success. A new Portland Community College non-credit class taps into Taoism for ancient guidance on reading your audience and giving more engaging, effective presentations. Instructor Don Wright will use both hands-on and on-camera approaches in Tao of Presentation Skills. Learn how to refine your tonal quality, body language and gestures, and discover secrets for quickly preparing a speech. Emerge from the class knowing how to paint pictures for people’s ears. The three-week class will meet from 7:30 to 9:30, Tuesdays, Oct. 11 through Oct. 25, at Zimmerman Community Center, 814 N.W. Hoyt. Cost is $55.
