Take a 'wok' on the wild side with Chinese Cooking Series

BEAVERTON, Ore. – If you have ever wanted to learn how to make those delicious Chinese dishes, now is the time to sign up for a popular cooking series offered by Portland Community College. Join Vivian Carpenter, a native of China, for PCC’s non-credit Chinese Cooking Series and discover how easy it is to recreate the exotic flavors of the Orient in your own kitchen. The series includes four classes, starting 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Oct. 6 through Nov. 3, in Room C13 at Cedar Park Middle School, 11100 S.W. Parkway St. Cost is $75 plus a $40 series meal fee. Each class features a different group of recipes. Themes include: Chinese Soups (Oct. 6). Learn how to make three different kinds of delicious soups: wonton, crispy rice and hot-and-sour soup. Chinese Appetizers (Oct. 13). Impress your family and guests with these great appetizers: egg rolls, fried won-tons, and crab rangoon. Chinese Hot & Spicy Dishes (Oct. 20). Spice up your menu with curried chicken, hot beef and hot pork. Chinese Pork Entr’es (Oct. 27). Increase your main dish repertoire.
