Sustainable food discussion at Rock Creek

Colleges and universities have broad missions of education, including the goals of education responsible citizens and critical thinkers. What is the role of Higher Education in community food systems? Come listen and participate in a discussion of how faculty, students, staff and community members can come together to engage in sustainable community food system practices in a two-day session at the Event Center at the Rock Creek Campus. A reception and panel discussion featuring local experts will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb, 9. At 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb 10, there will be workshops on learning gardens, curricular applications, student initiatives and campus food service practices, followed by social. It’s free admission.
