Discussion at PCC spotlights environment issues

PORTLAND, Ore. – Join Portland Community College, in partnership with the World Affairs Council of Oregon, to learn more about the environment, democracy and how you can become involved.

Inspired by Wangari Maathai’s upcoming World Affairs Council lecture, PCC will hold a panel discussion titled, “The Environment and Democracy.” It features local experts discussing environmental policy, political agenda, human rights and how they relate to Portland. The discussion is at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 9 in the CentralPortlandWorkforceTrainingCenter, 1626 S.E. Water Ave. Cost is $19.

Panelists include Portland City Commissioner Dan Saltzman; representatives from the Office of Sustainable Development; Stacey Triplett of Portland Metro Greenspaces; Moses Wambalaba, program associate with NW Regional Educational Lab Equity Center; and other local experts.
