Home organization class offers plan for spring cleaning

PORTLAND, Ore – Ready or not, spring is just around the corner and now is the time to get organized for spring cleaning. Beginning this April, a Portland Community College non-credit, five-week series will investigate ways to reduce clutter and increase the serenity of your home.

Make Your Home a Haven Series explores how to manage your home with order, beauty and gracefulness. Instructor Roberta Jwayad, author of “Organizing Wisdom,” will guide students through quick, easy and frugal ways to develop the foundation and habits of a well-ordered home.

The five-week series will meet from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesdays, April 4 through May 9, in Room 105 at the PCC Portland Metropolitan Workforce Training Center, 5600 N.E. 42nd Ave. Cost is $64. Topics include: Clutter Control (April 4); Cleaning Routines and Shortcuts (April 18); Menu Planning and Shopping (April 25); Recordkeeping and Your Personal File (May 2); and Gift Giving and the Gift Pantry (May 9).
