PCC classes give homeowners basic design skills

PORTLAND, OR. – If your house is in need of some tender loving care, it may be the time to brush up on your design skills. Instructor Carl Perrin and Portland Community College will offer two great opportunities this spring to learn how to design the next phase of your home. Both classes meet in Room 103 at Wilson High School, 1151 S.W. Vermont St.

Home Design with Help of an Architect covers the ins and outs of designing and building a home. The class will provide information relevant to on-site design, materials, programming, budgets, re-sale and construction methods. The one-night class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 6, Cost is $24.

Green Building: Sustainable Residential Building Design explores simple, affordable and sustainable green design practices. Add sustainable elements to create unique design and a healthier home environment. The one-night class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 13. Cost is $24.
