SCAPPOOSE, Ore. – Whether you are a novice or experienced “beader”, there are always more stitches, techniques and patterns to learn and weave into your design. Portland Community College is offering a non-credit class that explains the basics of beading techniques and allows students to practice by making an assortment of jewelry.

In Beading Techniques: Basics, instructor Elizabeth Hanson will guide students through basic beading techniques needed to create necklaces, bracelets and earrings. In this hands-on class, students will create and take home a necklace, bracelet and matching earrings while learning techniques needed to maintain beading enthusiasm after class.

The class will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays, April 3 through April 10, at the Scappoose Library, 52469 S.E. 2nd St. Cost is $49.
