Roses are blooming in PCC drawing class

Photos and story by

HILLSBORO, Ore. – From ages past roses have represented the soul’s desire for beauty in life. Now there is no better time to capture their beauty in an enduring fashion: drawing. This spring, Portland Community College will offer a non-credit class focused entirely on the beauty of roses.

Drawing Classic Roses in Black and White teaches how to draw stunning roses with charcoal and pencil. Instructor Stephanie Bishop will show you how to complete a pair of single-rose compositions while strengthening drawing skills. Create timeless works of black and white art that will grace your home for years to come.

The class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays, April 3 through May 8, in Room 172 of Glencoe High School, 2700 N.W. Glencoe Road. Cost is $94.
