Employment opportunities abound at Cascade Job Fair

PORTLAND, Ore. – More than 60 employers reflecting hundreds of employment opportunities will be featured at Portland Community College’s Ninth Annual Cascade Job Fair.

The fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2 in the Physical Education Building gym at the Cascade Campus, 705 N. Killingsworth Street. This event is free and open to PCC students and graduates as well as the community. Job fair sponsors include NECA-IBEW Electrical Training Center, Fred Meyer, OregonLive and Boly Welch.

This Job Fair is the single largest employment event in the entire PCC district and attracted more than 2,100 job seekers last year. Businesses are looking for full- and part-time workers as well as recruiting for summer jobs.

Employers attending include American Family Insurance, Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc., Beaverton School District, Bureau of Land Management, Comcast, FedEx Ground, Frito Lay, Inc., HSBC-Financial Services, KGW, Kaiser Permanente, Landmark Ford, Inc., Metropolitan Public Defender, Miller Paint Company, Morrison Child and Family Services, Mt. Hood Beverage, Oregon Department of Transportation, Oregon Health and Science University, Portland General Electric, Sysco Food Services of Portland, Inc., The Sherwin-Williams Company, Transportation Security Administration, Tri-Met, UPS and Wells Fargo, to name a few.

To prepare for the job fair, PCC is also resume reviews the week before the job fair. The resume review will occur from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. from April 24-27 in the Interior Mall of the Student Center.
