It’s always more fun to experience things with another person anyway. Now, the Community Education program plans to reward students who are interested in such non-credit classes as tango, dark room photography, kayaking, wine tasting and much more, by allowing a friend to come along for half price if they sign up early.

“My mom and I always look forward to the Early Bird discount,” said Sara Bentley, a Community Education student. “Signing up early makes scheduling easy and we take something different every term. We like saving money and we love learning together.” This term, take advantage of the classes-for-two promotion. The Early Bird Special invites you to bring a friend or family member and receive half off their tuition price when you sign up before Sept. 4.

It’s easy. View the Community Education schedule online, or check your mailbox for the Kaleidoscope magazine and Community Education class schedule inside, featuring hundreds of non-credit lifelong learning classes. Then get together with a friend and decide which classes to take.

Using the official Early Bird registration form, found online or in the schedule booklet, fill out your information and mail or fax it to PCC by Sept. 4. As a result, you will receive the class for its regular low rate and your friend will receive half-off the price of tuition.

“This special makes your class dollar stretch further,” said Jennifer Boehmer, marketing manager for the Extended Learning Campus. “Best of all, learning with a friend can be a fun way to spend time together.”

With an average enrollment of 45,000 students a year, the Community Education program is one of the largest non-credit programs in the country, and is designed to enrich the community with lifelong learning opportunities.
