PEOPLE AND PLACES: Hill selected VP for state organization

James Hill, communications specialist with PCC’s Office of Public Affairs, has been named Vice President of the Oregon Council for Marketing and Public Relations for the 2006-07 year at it’s annual retreat in Astoria. OCMPR is group of public relations professionals from the state’s 17 community colleges that discuss issues related to community colleges, and plan key statewide public relations strategies.
OCMPR also works closely with the Oregon Community College Association to help get the message out about the quality and accessibility of community colleges in Oregon. Hill, who has been at PCC for close to seven years, previously served as secretary for OCMPR during the 2005-06 year. Congratulations to James!
Weed tabbed as GED testing specialist
Tracy Weed has been picked the new GED testing specialist for the Cascade Campus. Weed previously served as an academic coordinator at Golden Gate University in San Francisco, and as an administrative assistant for the Adult Education Program in Portland, Maine. Congrats to Tracy!
