Actors are asked to sign up for a five-minute audition slot at the callboard across from the Sylvania Performing Arts Center in Room 108. Any prepared monologue will be accepted, but a monologue from a Greek drama would be preferred. The monologue should be between one and three minutes in length. The play, “The Love of the Nightingale,” is available for a four-hour checkout from the Sylvania Library reference desk across from the theatre. There are roles for 14 – seven men and seven women.
The play is about the myth of Philomele and Procne with the core of the story focusing on Tereus, King of Thrace, who marries Procne, daughter of the King of Athens. The production will collaborate with art classes to create masks and puppets for this production.
