African film festival receives $5,000
The PCC Grants Office is pleased to announce the award of $5,000 from the Oregon Council of the Humanities (OCH) for the 17th Annual Cascade Festival of African Films.
This one-year grant will support the 2007 Cascade Festival of African Films. One of the focuses at this year’s festival will be the 50th anniversary of Ghana’s independence. This grant from OCH will provide funds to bring Ghana’s foremost film director, Kwah Ansah, to help open the festival. Ansah will present two of his recent films, answer questions and share insights on contemporary filmmaking in African and the legacy of independence.
