PCC stages fair to recruit part-time faculty

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Community College is hosting a part-time faculty recruiting fair to lure new talent.

The Part-time Faculty Recruiting Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10 in the Dining Room of the Student Center Building at the Cascade Campus, 705 N. Killingsworth St. This event and parking are free of charge. The fair will feature information sessions on how to become a part-time instructor at the college, how to apply for PCC jobs and what qualifications PCC is looking for in its part-time faculty. Light refreshments will be available.

Prospects will get a chance to have face-to-face interactions with the various faculty department chairs who will be on hand to discuss their needs and the opportunities available within their departments. Other activities include presentations by PCC’s Human Resources department on how to apply for a job online; workshops by department chairs on how to present the best qualities in applications and resumes; and Q and A sessions with Sylvia Welch, director of the college’s Affirmative Action Office. Information packets will be available at the entrance to the dining hall.
