Gerontology faculty need student volunteers

Photos and story by

The Association for Gerontology in Higher Education conference is being held in Portland from March 1-4. PCC’s Taskforce on Aging planned its Age Boom Conference on February 28 to take advantage of the national experts who would be coming to Portland. Volunteers are needed to assist faculty and staff with presentations at this conference.

Several PCC students will earn free admission to the conference in exchange for four hours of volunteering. Jan Abushahkrah (gerontology program director) and Linda Weiner (distance learning instructor) are co-presenting a workshop with community partners about gerontological education as well as participating in several workshops. PCC staff member and gerontology student Danese Jundt will be participating in a resource exchange on the Wisdom Keepers, an older student resource initiative.

Anyone interested in helping them should call 503-977-4077.
