Photos and story by James Hill
PORTLAND, Ore. – Many people dream of making their own glass tiles, but the quantity of supplies needed for any tile project can be daunting. This spring, Portland Community College will provide students with the opportunity to make glass tiles with little monetary investment.
In the non-credit class, Fused Glass Accent Tiles, instructor Christy Corbett will teach students how to make accent tiles as well as provide preparation for future projects. Students will use sheet glass, glass frit, and powder. The class will meet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, March 3 through March 10, at Contemporary Crafts Gallery, 3934 S.W. Corbett. Cost is $159.
