BCT students going to Mississippi to help the poor rebuild

Photos and story by

Stop by your local ASPCC office and get in on the Building Construction Technology bookcase raffle. It’s for a very worthy cause.

The BCT program is traveling to Moss Point, Miss., to rebuild housing for poor families displaced by Hurricane Katrina. These families are still living in FEMA trailers, 18 months after the natural disaster. Two students and two faculty members will join NW Medical Teams for the trip April 28 through May 5.

You can help them get there. Each campus has the opportunity to support this project by buying $5 raffle tickets or five tickets for $20. The odds of winning are pretty good. There are four bookcases that were built by BCT students that will go to four lucky winners. Drawings for the bookcases will be April 6.

To buy a raffle ticket, stop by any of the ASPCC offices: Cascade Campus (SC 03); Rock Creek Campus (Room 128, Building 3); Southeast Center (MT 105); and the Sylvania Campus (CC 101).
