Cascade Food Services Supervisor LaBore passes away

Photos and story by

The Cascade Campus has lost a beloved staff member. Campus Food Services Supervisor Larry LaBore passed away late April 11 from complication of a massive heart attack. He had been a fixture on Campus since his arrival here in 2000.

“Those who knew Larry will remember him as a kind man with never a harsh word about anyone,” said Cascade President Algie Gatewood. “The wonderful food we enjoy in our Cafeteria, and its convivial atmosphere, are due in no small part to his skills as a leader. His weekly e-mails with the menu for the week to come were a regular feature of life at Cascade Campus.

“Our condolences go out to Larry’s family. Please keep them in your thoughts during their difficult days ahead,” he added.

The LaBore family has noted that remembrances can be made to the PCC Food Service Program in care of the PCC Foundation. If you would like to donate to the Food Service program and/or flowers for the family, you may do so in the Cascade Dining Room with Kerri Lapsley. Kerri is collecting funds for both flowers and the foundation.
