Gray selected for Van Cliburn Fifth International Piano Competition

Sylvia Gray, history instructor at the Sylvania Campus, has been accepted as a competitor in the Van Cliburn Fifth International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs in May. In preparation, she is performing three free recitals. Donations to help defray expenses are encouraged.

Her free recitals include:

Noon on Wednesday, April 25 in the OHSU Old Library Building.

12:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 6 in the Community Music Center (3350 SE Francis).

10 a.m. on Monday, May 7 at the Performing Arts Center.

ChristyAnne Hamilton and Sylvia will perform a presentation titled, “Amy Beach: Music, Life, and Birdsong.” This is part of Art Beat 2007.
