Nature comes alive in PCC drawing class

Photos and story by

Students can dive into the world of drawing with a Portland Community College non-credit botanical drawing class. Whether students are just starting out or have been drawing for years, this class will increase their skills as they learn to look at flowers and plants with a discerning eye and create beautiful works of art.

The class, Botanical Drawing, will capture the wonder and light of nature while creating drawings and paintings of your most beloved flowers and plants. Using live specimens, photos, or books by the masters, instructor Pamela Edwards will focus on technical accuracy and stylized images.

The class will meet from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Thursdays, July 12 through Aug. 16, in Room 109 of Building 3 at the PCC Rock Creek Campus, 17705 N.W. Springville Road. Cost is $89.
