6 Month Temporary Student Resource Specialist Position

The Sylvania campus Business, Computer Technologies, and Real Estate Division has an opening for a temporary, six month Student Resource Specialist position (January 2, 2008 to June 30, 2008). This position is funded by the Carl Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act and is designed to increase the retention, graduation and transfer rates of students enrolled in Computer Applications/Office Systems and Computer Information Systems certificate and degree programs.
This position advises students on program requirements, develops academic goals and provides referral services to college and community resources. The Student Resource Specialist evaluates student’s academic history and education, including transcript evaluation and introduces students to resources available through the college. This position also coordinates the Computer Technologies tutoring services. The position works 40 hours per week, year round and is housed within the Business, Computer Technologies, and Real Estate Division on the Sylvania Campus in the TCB building.
Under Article 3.64 of the Faculty and Academic Professional Agreement, this position is being opened to allow current part time employees in the subject area, as well as full-time Faculty with temporary appointments in the subject area, and other college employees, to apply.
