Photos and Story by

Landscape design can be costly and time consuming. This spring, Portland Community College’s Community Education program is offering a class that will help people design an original plan for their home that will save time and money.

In the non-credit course, Do-it-Yourself Home Landscape Design, students will learn from professional landscape designer Larinda Peterson as she shows off tips, tricks and techniques for designing home landscapes. Peterson will cover elements of design, functionality and cost cutting as well as time-saving techniques. The class meets from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, Wednesdays, Feb. 27 through March 19, in Room 137, Tabor Hall, Southeast Center, 2305 S.E. 82nd Ave. Cost is $55.
