Program gets $13,000 to show students, teachers Oregon's unique geology

The Grants Office has announced a sub award of $13,610 to PCC from the National Science Foundation for the “Collaborative Research: Teachers on the Leading Edge: Linking K-12 Earth Science Teachers to EarthScope program.” The grant will support a professional development program designed to introduce K-12 teachers and their students to the unique geology and geophysics of the Pacific Northwest, including the processes that control earthquakes and volcanoes. PCC is a partner with University of Portland along with Pacific Lutheran and Central Washington Universities.
