Learn to appreciate crafts with PCC class

Hone your perception of what distinguishes a thoughtfully and well-made everyday object. Learn the language of each craft medium from experts in the field.

In Portland Community College’s non-credit class, Craft Appreciation 101, instructor Lisa Plattexplores the language of ceramics and jewelry with prominent artists in their fields. Gain an understanding of the artists’ process and inspiration. You also will discover why you like certain objects and will be able to recognize a well-made object.

The class will meet from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, May 4, at the Museum of Contemporary Craft, 1724 N.W. Davis Street. Cost is $39. For more information, contact the PCC Community Education office at (503) 614-7308.
