Southeast Center hosts self-defense classes, professional luncheon

From 3 to 4:30 p.m., May 13, 15, 20 and 22 at the Southeast Center, women are invited to gain a sense of power and competence that will increase the quality and safety of their lives. This dynamic course taught by Katherine White of One with Heart, teaches women to respond immediately to a threatening situation.

Learn to trust your awareness and to assess your options for safety. Gain valuable information about preventing dating violence and practice setting effective boundaries. Participants learn and practice multiple self-defense strategies in a safe and supportive atmosphere. Pre-registration required. Call Dana Jean at (503) 788-6198 to reserve your space.

The Southeast Center Women’s Resource Center is hosting “Dare to be Different- Women in Non-Traditional Occupations,” brown bag event. Bring your lunch from noon to 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 20, Room 146, Mt. Tabor Hall and hear from women about careers in: Aviation Science, Welding, Oregon Tradeswomen’s Network and Management.
