Uncover the secrets of perfect food and wine pairing

Photos and story by

Picking the right wine to go with a meal can be tricky and serving vegetarian entrees can make it even harder. Portland Community College can help this spring with a non-credit wine and food class. Students can learn how to pair wine and food together perfectly in no time.

Forget the old rules about red wine with red meat. It’s time to explore how textures and flavors bring wines to life in the course, Pairing Wine and Vegetarian Food. Instructor Erin Palmer will show how to enjoy spicy, fruity, veggie delights with wines from the world (not a vegan course).

The class will meet from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Friday, April 25, at the Wine Cellar, 13486-A N.W. Cornell. Cost is $44. For more information, contact the PCC Community Education office at (503) 614-7308.
