Landscape photo class takes teaching to new heights

For outdoor photographers who are itching to get out into the summertime weather, Portland Community College offers a three-week landscape photography class.

In the non-credit course, Maryhill Scenic Workshop, learn to shoot beautiful landscapes from instructor Mike Riches. Students will shoot in a beautiful scenic area on a day field trip to Maryhill, Wash. Shooting will include a church, museum, a recreation of Stonehedge and rolling hills. The class will meet in Maryhill on Saturday, Aug. 23.

The rest of the three-week workshop will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Mondays, Aug. 18 through Sept. 8, Room 104, Central Portland Workforce Training Center, 1626 S.E. Water Ave. Cost is $104.
