It's always good to look like a doofus in front of the Board
Photos and story by Dana Haynes
I was asked to make two presentations to the PCC Board of Directors last night, because my boss is out of town and my pal Jennifer Boehmer was home with a sick kiddo.
No problem. Glad to step up.
Except, the bond-related video that I showed during the board pre-meeting dinner kept faltering on the aged laptop I was using. Not often. Just, oh, seven or eight times.
And the PCC television ad I showed during the bond measure? I couldn’t turn off the projector after it ran and we had to call up a techie to save my behind.
Really, if you absolutely must look like a complete idiot, it’s good to do it in front of people who don’t matter much. Like, say, the president, his cabinet, and the entire board.
And, if you know anything about Preston Pulliams, you just know he’s going to razz me about this for ages. He lives for opportunities to poke jest at his staff. It’s not like I had to lob a softball at him.
