October is Cyber-Security Month

This month is National Cyber Security Awareness Month is an annual effort to increase awareness and prevention of online security problems, promoted by the EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Computer and Network Security Task Force. PCC takes part in the annual campaign, joining forces with a range of organizations from the public and private sector to expand cyber-security awareness on campuses across the country. For October, it is highlighting a new topic each week, putting flyers and reference tips cards around the district.

Some topics covered will include:

– Password protection

– Viruses and Worms

– Malicious Web pages

– Copyright infringement

– Wireless security

– Phishing
