Your ballots should be en route
Photos and story by Dana Haynes
Your two voters pamphlets have arrived. The elections division is sending your ballot to the post office today. You should get it Saturday or Monday; Tuesday at the outset.
So now it’s up to you.
Two things to remember: Do vote. It’s easy enough to toss the ballot onto the coffee table with the junk mail and forget about it. That doesn’t mean you have to vote the day you get it. I always wait until election day and then hand-deliver it to the county courthouse. (Of course, for the past several elections, I worked in downtown Salem, a block from the courthouse. Not sure how I’ll do it this time.)
Second: Vote the whole ballot. Start with the presidential race and follow it all the way down to legislative races, city and county issues, the statewide ballots, and any special districts such as soil conservation or water. They’re all important. They all deserve your attention.
