Semana de la Raza essay writing contest focuses on Latino culture

The Rock Creek Campus Multicultural Committee invites you to participate in an essay eriting contest for Semana de la Raza. The 2009 theme is “Latinos: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.” Share your thoughts, feelings, and knowledge about the Latino community. This writing contest is open to everyone.

Explore how you see Latinos on where they were yesterday; how do you see them today; and how do you envision what things will be like in the future. Entries are due by 5 p.m., Monday, April 20. Send to Loretta Dike, Building 3, Student Center Help Desk, or email at ldike@pcc.edu

Four PCC Bookstore gift certificates will be awarded to the winners: 1st – $100; 2nd – $75; 3rd – $50; Honorable Mention $25. Essay contest winners will be announced at the Semana de la Raza event at Rock Creek. It will be during the opening luncheon on Monday, April 27th at Noon. Winners will be asked to present their work.
