Cascade Campus hosts Emergency Services open house

Interested in a becoming an everyday hero? Consider a career in emergency services.

Career opportunities in the emergency services fields – like firefighters, police officers, paramedics, 9-1-1 dispatchers, emergency medical technicians, and emergency managers – will be in the spotlight at the Portland Community College – Cascade Campus Emergency Services Open House, set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, in the campus’ Public Services Education Building, located at 705 N. Killingsworth St..

The event – which will run concurrently with the Cascade Campus Job Fair, taking place across Killingsworth Street in the Cascade Gym – will feature information on the many associate’s degree and one-year certificate programs housed in the Public Services Education Building, along with information on prospective metro area employers and a range of demonstrations, including:

• A mock motor vehicle crash, complete with patient extrication and care

• Simulated emergency calls, responder “tone outs” and radio broadcasts

• Fire suppression demonstrations
