State Senator Chip Shields throws support behind Middle College

On left, State Senator Chip Shields (North and Northeast Portland) stopped by the Cascade Campus on Wednesday, Jan. 13 to visit with and support Middle College Program staff and students, including John Noel, left, a junior at Jefferson High School. The Middle College program is a partnership between PCC and Portland Public Schools. It allows students from Jefferson and Roosevelt high schools to take college classes – and earn college credit – alongside regular PCC students. And it’s free: the program covers the cost of books, tuition, and fees for its participants.
