Family and friends took turns on stage to talk about the man that founded Portland Community College - Dr. Amo DeBernardis. The event was held at the Performing Arts Center at the Sylvania Campus. Dr. De passed away on Feb. 19. He was 96.

Instructor John Mery played music during the start of the ceremony for Dr. De's event and fellow music faculty Julianne Johnson sang during the ceremony in the PAC.

More than 200 people attended the remembrance, which featured not only those who knew Dr. De but also current faculty, staff and students who simply wanted to pay their respects.
