An estimated 200 business leaders and representatives of city, county and state government were on hand for the event. Congressman David Wu of Oregon’s 1st Congressional District spoke.

The college has many partners from both the public and private sector at Willow Creek, including TriMet – the facility is on a park-and-ride and a MAX station – as well as the Oregon Employment Department, Worksystems Inc. and Portland State University.

Willow Creek was constructed in 2009 with a combination of funds from the college’s 2008 bond measure and $7.5 million in matching grants from the Oregon Legislature.
