Giuliano, 7, donates birthday money to PCC Foundation

Photos and story by

Pictured, 7-year-old Giuliano Scasso hands Nancy Winbigler (ESOL instructor) a check as David Stout (Division Dean of English and Modern Languages) and Giuliano’s mother Kenya (who also teaches ESOL) look on during a quick ceremony at PCC’s Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. According to his mom, Giuliano has always been concerned about other languages and cultures. He understands the difficulties the students face and why learning English is critical to their success in the U.S. So, thanks to a hint from mom, Giuliano collected money for his birthday to help PCC students. The family asked for donations in place of gifts and collected $300 on his birthday that was donated to the PCC Foundation to help English for Speakers of Other Languages students pay for college. That money will go to help either five PCC students pay for tuition or 10 students to buy books. In honor of the young philanthropist, Stout also chipped in with a check to the Foundation.
