Here is a look at some of the news stories about PCC from around the local area and the nation in June. In total, PCC events and people appeared 82 times in the local community or national online media, newspapers or TV/radio. This is an increase of 64 percent from the same time period a year ago.
June 1, the Portland Business Journal, The Oregonian and the Daily Journal Of Commerce showcased PCC’s purchase of neighboring properties to Southeast Center.
June, the Southwest Community Connection highlighted PCC’s burgeoning enrollment and the success of the e-cycle drive.
June 2, history student Caleb Spiegel’s Lehrman Institute scholar award made news on OregonLive.
June 2, Miral Rezayee Bessed’s dramatic story and her thoughts on speaking at the PCC graduation were showcased in the Portland Observer.
June 3, Adrian Thompson was president of Cascade Campus for a day and was profiled by the Portland Skanner newspaper.

June 14, Community College Week ranked all of the community colleges in degree offerings and had PCC rated in six of the lists – all associate’s degrees (41st), degrees to non-minorities (32), American Indians (67), Hispanics (67), Asian Americans (67), liberal arts students (27) and parks, recreation, leisure and fitness students (35).
