Students in Service Program awarding grants for volunteer work

The Students in Service program has 60 slots available for interested students who want to earn an education award of a little over $1,000 for 300 hours of service within one year. This comes out to $60,000 that will be awarded to PCC students and a total of 18,000 service hours completed in the Portland community.

In order to apply for the Students in Service program, students must attend an orientation/info session. Students will learn all the necessary information needed to complete the application process at these sessions. These will be held during the first week of October on each campus at  various times. The deadline to apply is Oct. 15. Students can contact Samantha Lee at samantha.lee3@pcc.edu or call (971) 722-4184.

Below are the dates and locations of the orientation sessions.

Monday, Oct. 4
2:30 to 4 p.m., SE Tabor Hall 144.
5 to 6:30 p.m., Cascade Library 106.

Tuesday, Oct. 5
9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Cascade Library 106.
Noon to 1:30 p.m., Sylvania Cedar Room.

Wednesday, Oct. 6
2:30 to 4 p.m., Rock Creek Library 213.
5:30 to 7 p.m., Rock Creek Building 2/258.

Thursday, Oct. 7
10 to 11:30 a.m., Sylvania Spruce Room.
5:30 to 7 p.m., Sylvania Spruce Room.
