BPA Recruitment Fair at Cascade on Oct. 7
Photos and story by Abe Proctor
The Bonneville Power Administration will be recruiting for their High Voltage Electrical Apprenticeship Programs in Room 114 of the Technical Education Building at Portland Community College’s Cascade Campus from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7. The Campus is located at 705 N. Killingsworth St.
Apprentice-level positions with the BPA start at $25.38 per hour, and include an excellent benefit package. BPA requires that applicants be enrolled in a two year, electrically related Associates Degree program, such as those offered by PCC.
PCC’s Department of Trades and Industry is hosting the event. Bonneville Power is actively seeking apprentices for three apprenticeship programs: Power System Electricians, Substation Operators and High Voltage-Linemen. A Bonneville Power Representative will discuss the entry, on-the-job training and classroom requirements, and how a candidate can successfully progress to become a journey-level professional. A question-and-answer period will follow.
