PCC Panther and Newberg Tiger join forces to promote education
Photos and story by Kate Chester
Poppe the Panther, Portland Community College’s celebrity mascot, paid a visit to Newberg on Oct. 1 and cozied up to Newberg High School’s Tiger at the annual homecoming football game against Hillsboro’s Century High School. With the help of cheerleaders and friends, the two cats tossed PCC foam footballs to about 2,000 attendees between quarters and at half-time.
