PCC invites the Community to help shape the future of Cascade Campus
Photos and story by Gina Whitehill-Baziuk
As the planning process for PCC’s bond construction program moves forward, Cascade Campus is putting together a community Bond Advisory Committee (BAC) to help plan for the future of the Cascade Campus. The BAC’s task will be to inform the Cascade Campus Master Plan, anticipated to be completed by June 2011.
The BAC will be a crucial component in PCC’s ongoing effort to work together with our neighbors to ensure that the bond construction program at Cascade Campus enhances the livability of our neighborhood, enriches the educational experience at the campus and reflects the values and spirit that make our community so distinct.
The BAC will discuss issues such as parking and transportation, building location and design, and campus integration with the neighborhood. It will also work in accordance with the values expressed in the Cascade Campus Vision Document, which was developed earlier this year.
When fully constituted, the committee will have 20 members representing neighbors; area business and property owners; others affiliated with local faith-based, education and non-profit organizations; and representatives of the Cascade Campus faculty, student body and staff.
The BAC’s first meeting will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, at Emmanuel Temple Church, at 1033 N. Sumner Street in Portland.
