Here is a look at some of the news stories about PCC from around the local area and the nation in October. In total, PCC events and people appeared 85 times in the local community or national online media, newspapers or TV/radio. This is an increase of 17 percent from this time last year.

Oct. 5, Lucinda Parker’s art exhibit at the Rock Creek Campus made the front of the Focus section of the Hillsboro Argus.

Oct. 6 The Portland Observer showcased the CLIMB opening and Cascade’s Pursuit of Employment event that gives support to local job-seekers.

Oct. 7, PCC art instructor is making a difference at Portland Open Studios, according to the Portland Tribune.

Oct. 7, the Portland Tribune and The Oregonian reported PCC’s Southeast Center could become even more of a gem thanks to the bond.

Oct. 12, KPTV and OPB highlighted Secretary of State Kate Brown’s visit to PCC to help students with their voter registration drive.

Oct. 19, The Oregonian reported on PCC possibly partnering with the Portland Police Bureau for a new training center.

Oct. 22, the Rock Creek Harvest Festival made news in the Hillsboro Argus.

Oct. 28, Lake Oswego Review mentioned the upcoming PCC play “Woyzeck.”
